Dangerous Goods Awareness (DGA)
Dangerous Goods Awareness is intended for all operational personnel that are involved in the daily operations of air transportation.
Personnel need to be aware of the potential hazards associated with Dangerous Goods and be vigilant of what goods can and cannot be transported including what requirements must be meet to carry Dangerous Goods.
The course outlines the responsibilities of flight crew, maintenance and operational staff in connection to the ICAO guidelines and Civil Aviation Regulations for recognizing Dangerous Goods for transport.
The main objectives of the course are:
- To understand and recognize Dangerous Goods;
- Develop an awareness of the legal requirements, operational restrictions and governing entities;
- To develop tools to help you and your organization safely handle Dangerous Goods;
- To learn how to navigate the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations handbook.
